TMH Foundation Presents Year End Results
Quinte West, ON, June 12, 2024: The Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation (TMHF) announced its fiscal year results, revealing significant achievements and changes. Treasurer Peter Webb reported a total revenue of $4,115,000, with notable contributions including $689,000 to Quinte Health and $400,000 to the Lumeo project. Despite a slight increase in fundraising expenses, the Foundation maintained a low cost to raise a dollar. The annual general meeting also marked the end of terms for Board Chair Tina Furmidge and Treasurer Peter Webb, who both completed nine years of service. New board members Jae Cheyne and Michelle McKay were welcomed. Tina Furmidge highlighted the importance of continued community support for the redevelopment of TMH’s Emergency Department through the Emerge Stronger campaign.
Kay Stafford Awards Announced
At the TMHF Annual General Meeting, nine local organizations received a total of $96,900 through the Kay Stafford Community Grants program. These grants aim to enhance patient care at TMH and promote community health and wellness, particularly as the TMH Emergency Department experiences increased volumes. The grants, funded by the legacy gift of Kay Stafford, have significantly benefited local groups and TMH staff. The recipients include the Alzheimer’s Society, Community Living Quinte West, and the Quinte West Youth Centre, among others. Additionally, educational support was provided to 57 TMH staff and several local high school and college students. The initiative underscores the Foundation’s commitment to fostering a healthier community through strategic support and collaboration.
TMHF Executive Director Announces Retirement
Wendy Warner, the Executive Director of the TMHF, announced her retirement effective at the end of November. Warner, who has served for 20 years, expressed her gratitude to the Board of Directors, colleagues, donors, and volunteers. Her tenure was marked by significant achievements, including the creation of the Physician Recruitment and Retention Program, raising over $41 million for medical equipment and programs, and facilitating numerous high-profile fundraising campaigns. Warner’s leadership played a crucial role in the Foundation’s success and the advancement of patient care at TMH. The Board of Directors acknowledged her remarkable contributions and dedication, noting that her passion and donor relationships will be greatly missed.
