Rum Runner's Ball 2011

OVER THE TOP!

Not only did the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation reach its goal for the RunRunners Ball 2011 it exceeded it. With a sold out evening hosting over 250 patrons, and full line up of live entertainment, guests were treated to a high-class evening, gourmet meal and all for a great cause. From start to finish, the evening was something to remember and one many will never forget.

For those who missed the premier event of the year in the Quinte region the objective of the fundraiser was to purchase a new ultrasound for the Regional Comprehensive Breast Assessment Center (CBAC). Not only did the event do that, the committee was also able to fund a new ventilator and new ECG machine for the Emergency Department at QHC - TMH. It was obvious when the live auction ended with a standing ovation for Auctioneer Jim Nelson, that the fundraising goals had been exceeded. At the end of the night, a total of $236,242. (net) was raised.

The BIG winner here is the community.” says Wendy Warner, Executive Director of the TMH Foundation. “Having new medical equipment for our Emergency Department and our CBAC all funded in one night is absolutely outstanding. I am at a loss for words to describe the appreciation and admiration I have for this community and the Foundation” says Dr. Iris Noland, Medical Director of Emergency Services and Primary Care.

At the end of the evening three draws were made for over $14,000 in prizes. The AMA River Cruise winner was Bill and Sharlene Weaver, Col. Sean Friday took home the vintage pendant from Marshman Jewelers and third prize, the Vermont Castings BBQ from Dow’s Climate Care went to Brian Smith.

Last year the Gala raised 184,000 (net), with this year’s total, the Gala Committee has raised $948,016 just shy of $1 million since 2005.

Mark your calendars for Sat. October 20, 2012 for Hollywood of the North. Anyone interested volunteering; sponsoring etc. can contact Wendy Warner at 392-2540 ext. 5403, or email wwarner@tmhfoundation.com.
